Alison is a warm and empathetic Psychologist with a Master’s Degree in Health Psychology. She has experience working with people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds who have experienced anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief, body image and self esteem issues, abuse, trauma, self-harm and a number of other issues. Her approach is hollistic and flexible, considering how every aspect of a person’s life contributes to their challenges and their wellbeing. She supports people to not only manage their presenting issues but also to recognise strengths and create meaning within their lives. She incorporates a range of evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to teach practical skills and flexibility in thinking. Alison is a Kiwi and gained her Psychology qualifications in New Zealand.
